Duties and responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of the farm manager, manages delivery and quality performance, cost and
inventory management, and customer satisfaction for established suppliers.  

• Manages purchase order execution and product delivery, including placement of on-time schedule
agreements, mitigation of billing adjustments / terminations and execution of cost reduction goals.  

• Develop a market intelligence system that provides current market prices for all items regularly

• Interview or contacts supplier sales persons, and secures bids.

• Facilitate the filling of orders by suppliers to meet production.

• Works to maximize production capacity in accordance with production schedules.

• Prepare purchase Orders on behalf of the company.

• Receive purchase Requirements from different Units.

• Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries or discuss shortages or missed deliveries.

• Determine if there is adequate inventory at all time.

• Physical inspection of purchases and value for money audit on all purchased items.

• Handles special projects as assigned.

Qualities, Skills and knowledge

• Integrity driven and dependable

• Knowledge of purchasing practices, principles and procedures.

• Ability to analyze and present statistical data.

• Knowledge of MS Office applications, including some knowledge of intermediate level Excel


• Strong communication skills.

• Good organizational and time management skills.

• Must be able to balance multiple tasks in a challenging, fast-paced work environment.

Education and Experience:

• First degree in any related field.

• Five (5+) years cognate work experience, of which at least two (2) must have been in a procurement

management level.

• Experience in managing the core operations of a similar structured entity.
